From Maurie Pickering
Well, June is looking like a ripper of a month with all our vehicles undergoing massive restructuring.
Josh Hunter and Andre Heimgartner have been racing competitively but due to some unfortunate shunts and on track incidences, their Dunlop Development Series Ford V8 supercars are receiving birthdays. They have been stripped back to the skeleton and are undergoing total rebuilds. Both are ready to receive a new engine which promises to make these vehicles even faster.
The team’s Khumo Series V8 has got a new donk as well, and is heading to the track next week for some intense laps to iron out the bugs. And bring a big smile to my face as I’ll be behind the wheel.
Damian Ward’s Aussie Race Car is in the workshop getting new life breathed into it also. And promises to be even more competitive.
The team is racing full steam ahead with the appointment of Internationally experienced Team Manager, driver trainer and lead engineer, Greg Wooster. Greg has commitments with Porsche Asia, GT’s and the Sepang 12 hour this year, but fits into the Finance Ezi Racing team schedule very well.
Our other driver Ben Grice, racing in the Suzuki Swift Challenge series is kicking real goals with race wins leaving him in overall 2nd position. A great effort.
So roll on June and keep an out on the track for the blur of Finance Ezi’s black and yellow. Our July race meeting is in Townsville and it’s going to be great!
