The Team does well on the mountain.
10-12 October 2013
Steve Owen has taken a clean sweep as Casey Stoner diced with the leaders in Round 6 of the Dunlop V8 Supercars Series at Mount Panorama.
Once again Owen led from pole, built a margin over the field, and handled a Safety Car restart without any trouble to ensure a perfect two from two and a second round win in 2013.
Finance Ezi Racing did quite well with Josh Hunter cruising through the field in Race 1, starting 19th and progessing to 13th by lap 11’s safety car – before finishing 12th at the end of the Race. Starting at 12th position, Josh was only one outside the top 10 by the safety car laps 7 and 8, and made it ti 10th,, after Stoner running in 4th, hit the wall. Unfortunately a rear tyre delaminated and ended in a DNF.
Andre Heimgartner qualified 6th in Race 1, three positions ahead of Casey Stoner, and ran well maintaining 6th until a safety car bunched the field on lap 11. On the last lap at the end of the straight a mishap sent him wide losing quite a few places to finish 17th. Starting at 17th in Race 2 Andre ran steadily to finish a competent 12th. A safety car for 2 laps prior to lap 9 enabled the field to bunch before the shortened race left him with a 12th finish.
Championship standings have Josh at 22nd and Andre at 18th overall.
The Dunlop Series now enters a long break before the final round at Sydney Olympic Park on the second weekend of December.
